For the start of this new term, our littles ones will be going on an exploration around the world. As they have learnt about their neighbourhood and Singapore, it is time to widen their knowledge about the existence of other continents and oceans too. Hence, the children were taught about the countries in Asia for this week.
Here are the snippets of the children’s work for this week.
The toddlers have been introduced to ‘Satay Grills’, as one of the local food from Malaysia (our neighbouring country)
The preschoolers were having fun with their ‘Thai Elephant Craft’, as they were discussing about the significance of elephants in Thailand. They also learnt a new children song in Thai, entitled “Chang (Elephant)”.
Besides the elephant craft, the children also did a gigantic Japanese fan for their project work. They were engaged in creating a 2D map of China using crepe papers. The children had a discussion about various landmarks in countries of Asia with their teachers too.
The teachers have also conducted biannual fire drills with our children. Through these fire drill practices, they learnt to respond and evacuate safely during a fire emergency.
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude towards our children and their parents, for their recent contributions to one of our food donation drives. We have received a generous amount of food items for the elderlies from SASCO Senior Citizen’s home. On behalf of the beneficiaries, we would like to thank everyone who has stepped forward to help our community in midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The food donation drive would not have been a success without the support of our parents and children.
Thank you for catching up with us. Keep safe!
