For this week, our children were on a little adventure to another continent known as “Oceania”. Oceania is dominated by the nation of Australia with two other major landmasses, namely New Zealand and Papau New Guinea. Children were introduced to the aforementioned countries, national flags, cultures and animals that are unique to these areas.
Let us take a look at their learning for this week.
The toddlers were introduced to a game of Tic-Tac-Toe using Oceania icons. They created the board game of Tic-Tac-Toe from scratch.
They also did a 2-D collage of Koala, using newspaper.
The preschoolers were learning more about the pouch of Kangaroo. They learnt about baby Kangaroos, known as “Joeys”, and created a craft using felt materials too.
The older children were engaged in the making of a feather cloak, also known as “Korowai”. Besides, they learnt about “Maori” as the indigenous people living in New Zealand as well.
The preschoolers also enjoyed themselves, making 3D Koalas from paper cups.
We had a jolly good week. Hope you had a great one too. Stay tuned!
